Every year, thousands of Indians apply for Canadian Permanent Residency, yet many applications face delays—or worse, outright refusals. The reasons are often avoidable and linked to documentation, misrepresentation, or simply a lack of understanding of the process.

One of the most common reasons is incomplete or inaccurate documentation. Many applicants fail to provide proper proof of funds, education credentials, or employment letters. These documents must follow precise IRCC formats and include specific details—such as job roles, duration, salary, and company letterhead.

Misrepresentation is another major issue. Whether intentional or not, providing false information—such as inflated work experience or forged documents—can lead to a five-year ban from applying again.

Errors in language test results or ECA reports also create roadblocks. For example, submitting an academic IELTS instead of the required General Training test can make an application ineligible.

Finally, not meeting eligibility requirements due to misunderstanding NOC codes or applying under the wrong immigration stream leads to immediate rejections.

To avoid these pitfalls:

  • Double-check every document against IRCC checklists
  • Get your NOC code verified by a reliable source
  • Use only licensed immigration consultants if seeking help
  • Be transparent and accurate—every small detail counts
